 Yes. In virtually all counties a permit is required to install a new deck. It is a “structural” component of a home, and anything that is considered structural on a home requires a building permit.  Every county is different, but we work with all of them, and are familiar with the local requirements for our plan sets.

We will create a 3d model of your home, and of the deck, to show you the different styles and options, that way you can confidently visualize the deck before we get to work on it.

The design and permit process can take anywhere from a few weeks, to a few months, depending on complexity. If you have a site plan or plat, go with a simple design, and live in an easy to work with county, we can get approvals pretty quickly. If your property requires surveying, is in, near, or contains any kind of special county stuff (setback restrictions, wetlands nearby, un-located well or septic, etc) you could be looking at months.
