This single-family home, built in 1988, had a decorative front entry with two sidelights and custom trim details that needed more than a standard replacement.
A Worn Front Entry That Needed a Thoughtful Exterior Refresh
The existing front entry door system was more than 10 years old, and the surrounding trim showed visible wear. Recreating the Original Door Surround with Custom Fypon and PVC Details

The custom door surround was rebuilt using Fypon decorative pieces, PVC, and molding to create a like-for-like match with the original design. The team also replaced all fascia, soffits, and freeze board in white, then installed new white 6″ gutters with downspouts.
A Detailed Pre-Install Inspection Helped Protect the Final Fit
The project began with a 3-hour in-home consultation on April 13, 2026. During the visit, the sales representative assessed all three exterior doors, the worn door surround, trim, and gutter system.
A Pre-Install Inspection was scheduled for April 16 with the project coordinator and measure tech to confirm every specification before ordering. During this step, the team adjusted the door jamb size and added an extension jamb to ensure the new entry door system would fit properly.
Because cuts needed to be made on-site, painting the surround was planned for after installation. The team also sourced more cost-effective materials from TWPerry in Gaithersburg while still achieving the decorative profile the homeowner wanted.
A One-Day Installation That Restored the Home’s Front Entry
The installation was completed by Presidential Exteriors’ in-house crew on June 11, 2026. Materials were staged in the homeowner’s driveway, and the project manager stopped by during the installation to check on the crew and make sure everything was running smoothly.
By the end of the day, the home had a refreshed front entry that maintained its original architectural charm while adding a cleaner, brighter, and more polished appearance.
